I have been asked on many occasions especially at open days what the shapes on the signal square meant. Obviously  MH meant Martlesham Heath, and of course DX was Duxford.

for all the different type of codes etc see

Im probably teaching you how to suck eggs but if only one learns from this then its worth it

......and still aircraft landed at the wrong airfield! There was an incident at MH once I think it might have been in Gordon Kinsey's book Martlesham Heath that I read that and at nearby Sutton Heath/Woodbridge some German kite [WWII] got lost over the North Sea, thought he was over Holland and put his A/C down at SH, quite an amusing incident the latter, again I think from Gordon's book Bawdsey/Sutton Heath but I do stand to be corrected on these titles it is all from memory.
