The Martlesham Memorials

Special thanks must go to the Martlesham Heath Aviation Society [MHAS], local businesses and sponsors and the village people of Martlesham in remembering all those [service personnel & civilians] that lived, died and played at this former RFC/RAF/USAAF base.

There are three memorials on the Barrack Square to the above, I was fortunate enough to attend the last unveiling ceremony.

One of the memorials has this Station Crest in relief of MH and beautifully sculptured it is too..........

This BBMF Duo overflew MH and did three passes on the recent unveiling ceremony on Barrack Square

The USAAF Memorial contains the names of the fallen, but the RAF doesn't
To see these visit   http://www.martleshamheath-rollofhonour.co.uk/

A good site by Rob and Christie Drake. A big thanks must go to them for all the hard work involved. At the 2008 remembrance service Christie read out the RAF names and LT Col Ciero read out the USAAF names.

very moving

On your Roll of Honour that you have placed a link to Tarkey, there appears to be one name that I would like to find out more about if you or anyone else should come across how/why: Arthur Gordon Jones-Williams MC* Croix de Guerre with Palm
