There are one or two members on here that are ex BLEU but failing any response I will go along to the Tower Museum and make a few soundings it is only a mile away from me
September 28th 1956 an English Electric Canberra MK T4 serial number WE189 of the Blind Landing Experimental Unit was returning to MH when it performed an undershoot, there was loss of power in the port engine, the aircraft climbed to approx 200' inverted and crashed with the loss of F/Lt L A Coe and Mr J Birkle of the BLEU

After some indepth research I established the RAF Martlesham Heath Roll of Honour Project about three years ago. Part of this ongoing project is the Website www.martleshamheath-rollofhonour.co.uk. The research is geared towards the individuals rather than the aircraft however I do have a lot of information on this area. It is worth noting that the MHAS and, in particular, Alan Smith have helped enormously. If anyone has any information or photos that may be of assistance please get in touch.
