Following on from the MH100 weekend in July it became obvious that we (MHAS) needed some robust information boards, boards that will explain to those visiting exactly where to find the various buildings etc. that made Martlesham Heath one of the most revered airfields, before, during and after WWII.  Each board will explain in detail what the buildings etc. were used for in order to give the visitor a more enjoyable experience.

Voting is open! And nows the time to share your project with friends, family and community supporters to get as many votes as possible.

Heres your project link that youll need to share far and wide to secure votes:
https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-4254

Remember to spread the word by sharing your project  everyone you tell can cast 10 votes, which they can spread between different projects or just one, as they choose.

Any help towards this project is greatly appreciated

There have been overload problems and it took me over 10 attempts at voting but I hung in there, apparently AVIVA have said things have improved [You probably only need 9 attempts now!]

Sad news, Tarkey Barker received the news that Vic Skeet had died last night aged 98

Several of you would have met Vic, it was on his 90th birthday that Tarkey and I took him to see the rebuilt Beaufighter at Duxford courtesy of Chief Engineer Pete Rushen, this is the end of an era as Vic was a ground engineer working on Douglas Bader's Hurricane whilst Bader was OC 242 Sqn at Martlesham during WW2 cry
