Wartime MH

In WWII many different types of aircraft were based at MH, if anyone has any original photos that are not under copyright please contact us so that we may show them, I have plenty of photos in my own library to show similar types that flew or were stationed here.

If you have any memories of your own or your family who served here please let us know, because once these memories have gone, they have gone forever.

Two Westland Lysander aircraft along with Supermarine Walrus amphibians  were based at MH in 1941 as spotter and rescue aircraft for downed pilots in the North Sea.

If the pilots/aircrew used their parachute then they could become members of The Caterpillar Club, if they ditched in the sea they could then become members of the Goldfish Club
