Nature reclaiming the runway

Several years ago my friend tested his RC car on the runway*.  I walked on the southern most end today and I don't think any RC vehicle can negotiate the runway unless it's a tank!  Moss, weeds and general detritus.  Even the footpath leading to the runway lighting generator hut had become overgrown.

*Battery died and it went out of control, so a kerb would have destroyed it.

The runway looks very overgrown, buddleia, moss, lichen, loosestrife all abound but it is a haven for wildlife

Buried under these trees is the old peritrack at Martlesham Heath
