That Anson (your pic, John, was the month before I was demobbed) was the nearest I got to flying in the RAF.  I seem to remember that if you had a weekend pass and were one of the very, very lucky few you might wangle a lift from MH to ?Northolt on a Friday afternoon.  I didn't get lucky!

Hmm ...  Didn't even know that the Suffolk Police HQ is there!  Which way is the photo facing?  Any idea of the date?

........no date for the photo Brian but the road exists in part facing south or south east, the large hangar, right of centre background appears to be construction. Today the road leads to Suffolk Police HQ which would [if seen today it would be opposite the last house on the extreme right side] the road is called Portal Avenue and runs off the A1214

Quite disorienting!  I have to check with Google maps/Earth in an effort to reconcile the present how things were nearly sixty years ago and with that pic (mid-30s?).  What's the big building extreme right background?  Little visible detail.
