Captain Eldon F. Troge was stationed at Martlesham Heath from 1943-45. He was sent from the USA as a P-47 Pilot, and switched to P-51's later.  He was with the 359th squadron, of the 356th Fighter Group, where the pilots were headquartered at Kesgrave Hall.  Eldon died in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA on November 13, 2008,  and is buried in the Field of Honor of Fort Howard Cemetery.

Hi Inez

Great to have you on board. I remember you both so well from our trip to the reopening of the American Museum at Duxford and for that reunion week here at Martlesham.
regards
Tarkey

Hi Inez

Just to add to Tarkeys welcome may I also welcome you aboard the ship, I'm sorry to hear the passing of Eldon, Tarkey has spoken about you both with great affection.

I live very close to Kesgrave Hall, I will shortly be placing on the forum a piece on the P-47, so please stay tuned

Thanks

Although these aircraft were photographed at Duxford a few years ago this picture could easily be from 1944 at Martlesham
