Summer 1960 UBAS Summer Camp Fred Davies [Coventry] in the c0ckpit and Taff Evans both Engine Corporals doing a run on a Chippie, Fred where are you I haven't heard from you in 10 years!
Bob Dunnett and me went to the unveiling ceremony We met 2 Princesses and a Prince all relatives of the Prince I'm not usually impressed by people but the personality and charisma of the Prince was something else. he was a Captain in the Luftwaffe at some stage, and nephew of Obo as the price was called. There were representative fro the Rugby World and MrRoman Abramovich who presented some silverware to the IBC ( personaaly I was amused at this as Obo was part of the old Russian Royal family and smuggled out as a baby the day before the massacre )
The picture is of Bob and me by the statue courtesy of Max Stocker Publicity officer at IBC, A day I wont forget in a hurry
He is buried at Ipswich Cemetery. My friend Vic Skeet who was at MH at the time remembers the funeral procession which stretched all the way from MH to Ipswich.
