The RAF in Suffolk

Sadly, I didn't see much at all of the BBF during my time at MH (1958-60). They were only out (static or, rarely, actually flying) in daylight, of course, and if I was on watch I was stuck in Signals Section. I remember what I think was the second Spitfire's maiden flight, after either rebuild or seriously major work, when it suffered undercarriage failure on landing - oh dear! I don't think the last photo was of that particular event because of the presence of the youngsters; despite the main road, there was still significant security.
