'B' Flight Road which led from the [then] A12 road into the airfield, this was Air Ministry property, the sentry box can be seen on the left, the [later] AOC-inC's house is on the left [now used by Suffolk Police] adjacent is the old Station Commanders house following are the Officers Quarters, the road today is called Portal Avenue and leads to Suffolk Police HQ
