The news is now coming in thick and fast.... First The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight times have been given to us: Saturday 8th July flypast at 13-00 , Single Spitfire. Sunday 9th July flypast at 15-35 Hurricane and Spitfire. The Sunday flypast is right on time for our unveiling ceremony* starting at approx 15-30, Please visit our website for more details 2 weeks away form the event date when exact timings will be given. https://mh100.org.uk/ PLUS confirmation of a flypast from a P51 Mustang (Miss Velma) on Saturday...around lunchtime, our grateful thanks to the USAF at RAF MIldenhall/Lakenheath for setting this up, .... so again please keep looking on the website for exact timings nearer the event itself...
* This is a commemorative stone some 5' in height complete with plaque to be located near to The Douglas Bader Public House
Believe the P51 Mustang display has been moved to 1300hrs on Sunday subject to weather/serviceability etc

News Update (6 June 2017) Flypast Times: On Saturday 8 July the flypast will be by a Spitfire, at 13:00. On Sunday the flypast will be by both a Spitfire and a Hurricane, at 15:35. Both flypasts will be three passes over Martlesham Heath. Times are approximate.
The Brentwood Youth Imperial Band will perform the Beating the Retreat Ceremony at approx 1535hrs as the centennial memorial stone, adjacent to the Douglas Bader public house, is unveiled by The Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk The Lady Euston it is hoped that this will coincide with the flypast of the BBMF Hurricane & Spitfire [subject to weather/serviceability etc] This will be on Sunday July 9th ONLY
I have been sent some photos of a Veteran's time at Martlesham Heath, it might be a good idea if you have some photos of your time at MH [or your relative] to bring them along to share memories with others but a word of caution place your name on the back of the photo on 'post it note' or a light pencil mark with your name thereon
