RE: Foxhall USAF Transmitter/Receiver Station

The site in my days (1964 to 1967) underwent quite a transformation.  Buildings such as the one the main comm centre and maintenance, snack bar areas must have been replaced.  The building must have had WWII orgin because it had a blast wall approximently 6 feet away and large metal doors.  There was no dining hall and only a small building with a few beds outside.

Our equipment was TRC-24 UHF to Ben****ers and Woodbridge two directions, Marconi Microwave and Semens Halske TROPO for the expensive side.  I remember TROPO going to Flobeq Belgium and can't remember if Microwave was coming from Great Bently or some other site.

Remember times when I walked from Foxhall to base at night after being in Ipswich.

Christmas Day there was no fun at all.

Worked for SMS Jacobs.  Remember when the backup generator flywheel came out of it's mount.

Larry Wildman then A1C 2164th Communications Squadron  Maj Alex Hutch and Maj Johnson Commanders.
