It won't go unnoticed that Ray & Mark's headstones are shaped into the wing tips of a Spitfire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Hanna

I was at Shuttleworth a week after Mark died in an Me109 in Spain, I was gobsmacked on hearing the news

Ray of course was team leader of the Gnats/Reds, upon his funeral the Reds flew over in salute, Ray's wife still lives in the family home of The Old Vicarage nearby

You would need half a day for this visit sadly we only had time for two hours, the dedication these guys put into such projects are unbelievable especially as in August 1945 the Yanks went back home, had a riotous party and shot up the Control Tower
