The only thing I recall here is that well after the USAAF left the site the base was put into Care & Maintenance and that Bloodhound Ground to Air Missiles were based here

I seem to remember an incident that someone once told me that after D-Day the USAAF took an extended flight to the Warsaw area and dropped food and ammunition to the Partizans, not having the fuel to return to base they landed in Russia
