RE: Photos of MH100 event

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those Veterans and their families that attended the MH100 event, it was indeed an honour to be in your presence, I do sincerely apologise to those that I could not speak to who could only stay a short while. It was a very memorable occasion, very hectic at times but not as hectic as some of the MH100 Organizing Committee who worked their socks off to make this event as such a great occasion as it was

I really cannot select one event above the others that left a mark on myself, they all did! To have flypasts by the BBMF, dignatories milling with the Veterans of high rank, inc Lady Clare of Euston, the Red Devils Parachute Display Team saluting us all and then being presented to them and then mingling with us all was indeed an honour.

The American section of number 71 [Eagle] Squadron numbering 24 who flew in especially from The States was too an honour especially to the two sisters of one of the pilots who were aged 98 and 90, that was some achievement and then the former laying the wreath at the foot of the new commemorative stone in blazing sunshine flanked by a USAF Guard of Honour, dignatories, standard bearers and a lone piper with a 72 piece marching band Beating the Retreat

What a day!

Special thanks to the organising committee of MH100 led by Chairman Mr Peter Davies who I consider to be a very good friend in these few short years we have known each other and his other MH100 Committee members and all the other helpers, volunteers, security who made this event such a success, to Tesco for providing drinks and food to the veterans for free was a wonderful gesture, I thank you all
